Kiara was born in Mumbai in a Sindhi family. Her birth name is Alia but was changed to Kiara before her Bollywood debut. She was always interested in acting and had dreamt about acting in Karan Johar movies since her childhood.

She was good in her studies and completed her schooling at Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai. Also completed her graduation in Mass Communication from Jai Hind College, Mumbai.
