3 T20 internationals :

Suryakumar Yadav was elected as captain to lead India in T20s. The first match was washed out due to rain. South Africa won the second match by 5 wickets, whereas India won the 3rd T20 by 106 runs.

T20 Series was shared 1-1.

3 One Day Internationals (ODIs) :

India continued their momentum and won the 1st ODI by 8 wickets, dismantling South Africa for a mere 116 runs and chasing it down in just 16.4 overs.

South Africa however came back strong after the first match and won the 2nd contest by 8 wickets.

The third match was the ODI series decider and the excitement was all over the fans. India put up an above-par score of 296 on the board. South Africa in their chase kept on losing wickets and ended up losing the match by 78 runs.

2 Test Matches :

The first match started with an Indian batting collapse however KL Rahul stood tall and took India to a respectable total of 245 runs in the first Innings.

This inning was outclassed by the batting master class of Dean Elgar where he scored 185 runs and put South Africa in the forefront. India eventually lost the match by an innings and 32 runs.

The second test was the last chance for India to redeem themselves. Mohammed Siraj started the riot on South Africa by taking 6 wickets in the first innings and they were bowled out for 55 runs. India started well and was well placed at 153-4, however, the batting collapse happened yet again and India was bowled out for 153.

Aiden Markram fought a lone battle in the second innings, scoring a century on a difficult pitch, however, he could only manage South Africa to reach 176. India chased it comfortably in 12 overs and became the first Asian team to win a test match in Cape Town.
